Shopify Catalog and UCP: The Infrastructure for Agentic Commerce
Shopify Catalog space functions as search infrastructure for commerce – a structured dataset spanning billions of products. With the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), co-developed with Google, AI agents can now shop on behalf of customers across all platforms. Merchants with eligible products are included by default.
AI search powered by Shopify Catalog converts 2x better than search based on scraped data. New capabilities include visual search, product discovery, and richer product attributes.
Agentic Storefronts in Admin: Your Command Center
A new interface in Shopify Admin aggregates all AI channels – ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Google Search AI Mode, Gemini, and Shop – with performance metrics and search ranking visibility. Omnilux reported that AI channels drove 3.2% of total revenue in March, while Cozy Earth experienced 20x year-over-year growth in AI channels.
Sidekick: AI Integrated Everywhere
Sidekick is now more deeply integrated into operations via App Extensions that connect to 15+ third-party partners, including Klaviyo and Loop. Sidekick Pulse provides proactive recommendations on a redesigned Admin home page. The tool is now available on Apple Watch.
Marketing That Does More for You
Shop Campaigns has expanded to include ChatGPT, Pinterest, and Microsoft Monetize – and only charges upon actual conversion. Campaign Autopilot runs AI-driven campaigns across Facebook, Instagram, Shop, and email, with Microsoft Advertising, ChatGPT Ads, and Snapchat on the way.
Smoother Commerce – Online and In-Store
Brands outside of Shopify can now offer Shop Pay in their checkout. AI-powered Shop Search enables conversational product search. POS v11 reduces checkout time for complex carts, and the new Verifone Victa terminal is ready for Shopify POS.
